This was a great article Josh! And I’ve personally reached a similar conclusion.

I use my newsletter as a vehicle to charge for all the products and tools I create for my readers. So it functions more as a paid community.

The other advantage of this is it takes the pressure of the decision about whether a post should be free or paid.

Since people get value up front from subscribing, I can give away most of my newsletter issues for free, helping both writers and myself, since the free high quality content helps sell the overall package.
