Writers become successful when they teach others how to do it. It’s great to have people who teach. But it becomes a problem when growing writers are too distracted on ‘learning’ how-to-write rather than putting in the necessary work to put up high-quality content.
This is certainly true. Even as someone who writes about writing on Medium, many writers tend to gravitate toward strategies that do not emphasize the hard work required. The very fact that I have emphasized the he need for a long term approach to succeeding on Medium has certainly cost me some followers or Medium course sales. The one advantage of this is that the remaining writers (undeterred by the idea of hard work) tend to do really well.
