This is all very true. As someone who has run many publications on Medium, many of these anecdotes bring back memories of similar personal experiences.
Many Medium writers demand everything from publications and their editors.
And some writers still wonder why some of us choose to not accept add other writers in our own publications? The amount of time, energy, and money wasted trying to help other writers in a multi writer publication can be enormous.
I am sorry you had to deal with thIS Dr Mehmet Yildiz. The stress of managing publications can be huge and writers should try to at least not make an editor’s job harder. Ideally they would realize that everyone running publications on Medium does so because they want to help writers. There is no monetary reward. And even if there were, as you pointed out, it would never cover the time and money we all put in every day.
