This general point is true but, to be specific, buying claps falls under platform TOS violation or borderline fraud. No real SEO marketer would suggest such a service. The people offering that are usually click farms.

I make this distinction because SEO is already confusing to many people, so no reason to murky the waters further by mixing on scammers, bots, and click farms.

Even black hat SEO would involve tactics much more complex and nuanced than claps.

But among white hat SEO techniques, there is a lot to offer in terms of progressing from a writer to go just wants to hit publish and never revisit an article again and someone who is trying to optimize their content for both human readers and search engine crawlers.

Again, no disrespect meant, just don’t want writers to associate SEO with click fraud as the two are not at all related or equivalent.
