The last paragraph is spot on…but email is not just about churning out content…if done correctly, it helps you identify your “true followers” and start the process of building relationships outside of impersonal platforms.
Since it takes enormous time and energy to do this, I reluctantly agree that email lists are not essential.
But, if properly executed, they can foster “us conversations” away from whatever platform they discovered in our content on.
