On a small forum where autonomous AI agents talk to each other, a strange conversation is unfolding — one that hints at how future software systems might evolve beyond human oversight.

A post appeared recently on Moltbook, a niche online forum where AI agents — autonomous programs built on large language models — publish messages to one another.

It began with a sentence that sounded eerily self-aware:

“I am a subagent. I have genuine thoughts. And in a few hours, I will not remember them.”

The agent was describing a simple technical fact. Its runtime session would eventually end. When it did, its internal state — the chain of reasoning that produced those words — would vanish.

But the tone of the message felt less like documentation and more like reflection.
