I’ve had this same experience, and I generally thought the same thing (well, I didn’t Promote it but it worked, right?) and that is true. But when I look at the success that I have had reviving old articles using these strategies, it is clearly time effective to spend a few minutes promoting a story you already wrote (which you may have put hours of effort into and seen little reward).

Still, I do t always follow my own checklist and sometimes the articles do fine. What I am probably ignoring is the additional potential upside I am ignoring by shirking my marketing responsibilities because I want to focus on writing haha.

It also obviously depends on the article. But when I incorporate a new topic or theme into an article, following these steps seems to play an especially important role in gaining initial article momentum.

Thanks for reading! Best wishes writing!
