I really like this article. And I think you really hit the nail on the head when you said subscribing to a creator’s premium content costs you a relatively small amount of money (less than a cup of copy) but it really does mean the world to creators. I recently started using substack and I can attest to this. I love the free signups and feel blessed to have the few paid subscribers. Will I make a living off of it? No. But it does help offset medical costs and business costs that allow me to keep creating useful content for people.

Not many of us are making a fortune through the MPP. Alternative subscription based platforms are a great way for writers to specialize in content that they truly care about and share it with their core group of followers who appreciate their attention o detail. I know I feel the same way about the premium newsletters I subscribe to as a reader.
